I do use these probes, connected to the JrF c-series+ contact mics in certain specific situations when recording the internal sounds of trees, plants and other small objects, however this kind of recording is pushing recorder technology to its limits, so results are not guaranteed, and indeed most of my plant recordings, for example, are done without using probes.
